Privacy Policy

The short version. IdealLearning is free. We keep only what we need to run your learning. We never sell your information, show ads or use trackers. What children and teens type to Ask Your Guide is never stored. You can delete your account, and everything linked to it, yourself at any time.
Who we are
IdealLearning (ideallearning.net) is run by Translator Series, Inc. Questions, requests or complaints about privacy: office@translatorseries.com.
What we keep, and why
You can use every course and Ask Your Guide without an account. If you don't sign in, we don't know who you are.

Some things stay only on your own device and never reach us: lesson notes, and your reading, sound and motion preferences. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
Who can see it
- You.
- A parent or guardian you link, only if you give them a one-time family code from your own account. They see your lessons, courses, badges, quiz results and certificates. They never see your email or what you asked Ask Your Guide. Either of you can remove the link, and access ends immediately.
- Teachers see only learners enrolled in a course they teach: name, grade, XP, streak and progress in that course. Never your email or password. A teacher can also keep notes and learning plans about learners in their courses.
- Our staff, for safety flags and to run the service.
We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't share it with advertisers. There are no ads, analytics or tracking tools on IdealLearning.
Outside services
- Most pages load nothing from other companies. Our fonts are served from our own site.
- A few pages load code libraries from jsDelivr (three pages) and Babylon.js (the 3D adventure). Those services see your internet address when the page loads.
- Ask Your Guide's answers come from AI systems run on our own servers, not an outside AI company.
- IdealLearning does not send email.
Children under 13
Children under 13 don't sign up themselves; our signup page asks for age and stops them. Every course and Ask Your Guide work without an account, so a child can always learn here without one.
A parent or guardian can add a child from their own parent account (Family page, then Add a child under 13). Before adding a child, the parent reads a notice and gives consent. We record when they consented and to which version of the notice.
What we keep about a child you add
- A first name or nickname you choose (no last name) and a grade band (K-2, 3-5 or 6-8).
- What your child does while learning: lessons finished, time on a lesson, quiz answers and scores, badges and certificates.
What we never keep or do
- Your child's email address, full name, address, phone number or photo. We never ask for them.
- What your child types to Ask Your Guide. It's used to answer, and never stored.
- Ads, tracking or selling. Nothing about your child is shared with anyone outside IdealLearning.
We use this only to run your child's learning: remember their place, show their progress and badges, and show you their learning report. If your child writes something that sounds like they may be in danger, they're shown crisis help right away, and our staff get an alert that doesn't include their words.
Your rights as a parent
- See everything we keep about your child at any time: it's their learning report on your Parent Dashboard.
- Delete your child's account and everything linked to it at any time from your Parent Dashboard. That also withdraws your consent and stops any further collection.
- Your child can only use their account through a session you open on your device.

Teens (13 to 17)
Teens can have their own account. What they type to Ask Your Guide is never stored. A parent can follow their progress only if the teen gives them a family code, and the teen can remove that link at any time.
Your choices
- Change your name or delete your account on the My Account page. Deleting removes your account and everything linked to it: learning records, quiz answers, badges, certificates and family links. It can't be undone.
- Share your progress with a parent, or stop sharing, on the Family page.

How we protect it
Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes. All traffic uses HTTPS. Each part of the service shows data only to the people allowed to see it, and automated tests check those rules. No system is perfectly secure; if you think your account has been misused, tell us.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we keep or how we use it, we'll update this page and its date before the change takes effect. We don't send email, so check here. Big changes will also be shown on the site. For children added by a parent, we'll ask for consent again before collecting anything new.
